Rafting in Croatia
Croatia offers various canyons ideal for white water rafting.
The diverse rivers and lakes allow canoe or kayak trips of almost all levels of difficulty. You can either fight against the rapids and torrents or follow the the rivers downstream.
The Cetina river, flowing into the Adriatic Sea near Omis, is a true eldorado for canoeists. Not only the river itself is an attractive destination, but also the picturesque villages and the beautiful nature around are worth mentioning and make your rafting experience perfect.
The course of the Cetina river, from its source to its mouth into the sea, is very diverse and therefore offers different degrees of difficulty for rafting excursions. In the higher regions, the Cetina is a rather fast torrent whereas the lower parts become wider and slower.
The Dobra river in the northwestern part of „Gorski kotar“ is a little less exciting but still very beautiful and diverse. It is perfect for rafting beginners and canoeists. Beside some torrents there are also calm waters and a wild rafting area between Gojak and Lesce.
The Zrmanja river in north Dalmatia is also very popular among rafting lovers. It is pretty challenging as there are some waterfalls and wild torrents. Experienced athletes dare to paddle through some of the smaller waterfalls with their kayaks.
If you prefer a slower and less thrilling kayak tour you can choose between the rivers Kupa, Mreznica, Korana and Krka.
